Another month, another Sunday, another new batch. To a lay person, this may look repetitive and monotonous, but at Satyam Yoga Centre in Mambalam, Sannyasi Krishna Yogam’ji has tirelessly carried out Swami Sivananda’s mandate of “Spreading Yoga from Shore to Shore, Door to Door. “

The 186’th batch of the free one-month introductory yoga course commenced on 17-Nov-2024 with the morning pooja to commune with the Divine, and invoke God’s blessings so that we are able to receive the right strength and knowledge to fight our weaknesses.

Along with the regular offering of prasadam, there was food for thought as well. Swami’ji outlined how man, although a more evolved being, has constantly damaged the ecosystem with his defective lifestyle, which includes wrong eating habits.

Yoga aims at restoring balance in the mind, in the surroundings and in the flora and fauna, he said. While we spend so much time on beautifying the exterior body, do we ever ponder about mind cleansing, Guruji asked. The atmosphere reverberated with the chanting of “Om.”

Sannyasi Krishna Yogam’ji has trained more than 8,000 students in the basics of yoga. The courses are held at the Bala Vidya Mandir in Kodambakkam every day from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. For more information, please contact the ashram.
